Aqua Shield® Polyester Resin

Aqua Shield® resin is a uniquely modified isophthalic polyester resin produced by a two-stage addition method to enhance curing characteristics.
The weakest link in any polyester resin is the ester linkage.  Aqua Shield® resin is made form TMPD® which shields the ester linkage by providing steric hindrance against chemical agents trying to attack the ester linkages.  It is these sterically hindered ester groups that gives Aqua Shield® resin it's superior corrosion resistance.  Steric hindrance also lowers the exotherm and shrikage during the curing process and increases the heat deflection temperature to make a resin that is particularly well suited for tooling applications.
